Conductor GT4 takes much of the incredible headphone amp of the Soloist GT4 and adds a completely new DAC, for an outrageous high end Class A DAC / Preamp / Headphone Amp. Equally at home on a desk as a complete headphone system, or quarterbacking a high end audio system, the GT4 is an awesome new high end audio machine.
GT4 Has So Many New Improvements
Two newer technologies are key to the improvements in the Conductor GT4, helping to keep the rich, beautiful vocals Soloist and GT amps are regarded for and push the performance so far forward from the GT3 and earlier series: Silent Power Modules & Vivid V7 Op-Amps.
Silent Power Modules
Burson has always focused on producing quality power supplies. The new Silent Power Modules are a low noise regulator that eliminates noise in the circuit, for significant improvements in performance compared with previous models. Silent Power has been designed as a plug in module, opening up the possibility of upgrading in the future if we make further advances with these components.
Vivid V7 Op-amps
Conductor GT4 in the Deluxe and Max versions, uses 6 of the new V7 Vivid op-amps in its layout. These new V7 use a shorter signal path and with their improved design and aluminum heatsink shell, they are meant to operate at high temperatures and manage it perfectly. The shell helps shed heat and control the temperature while running with a higher idling current. This both improves stability as well as improving its audio performance.
Massive 10 Watt Class-A Headphone Amp
The newly redesigned 10 watt headphone amp circuit from the Soloist GT4 is largely carried over here and makes up the bulk of the Conductor GT4. The Class-A design does run hot and the Cool Case manages the thermal aspects of the Conductor GT4 well, so it never runs too hot and will have a long lifespan.
Ready for any flagship, with a low output impedance and happy to output huge amounts of current, you will hear the full potential of your headphones through the gorgeous, powerful, precise output of the Conductor GT4. Vocals come to life in front of you and the soundstage is presented in a way few headphone amps are able to.
There are two Gain levels here, Low, with 10% of power, 1W BAL / 0.5W SE, ideal for IEM’s and easy to drive headphones like Grado, most Meze. High gain is the full power, with 10W BAL / 5W SE.
Dual DAC Totally New Design
In the Conductor GT3, Burson use two ESS9038 DAC chips that work together to process both audio channels. In the GT4, thanks to the stackable Max-Current Power Module, each DAC chip is independently powered and handles only one channel. This new dual mono design eliminates cross-channel interference and significantly improves detail retrieval.
Combining this new DAC architecture with Burson’s world-renowned V7 op-amps results in improved audio quality, better details and an improved soundstage.
Extensive Connectivity
GT4 gives you plenty of options, with USB, Optical, Coax and Bluetooth digital inputs and a full suite of analog input and outputs, in both RCA and XLR. There is even our extreme Subwoofer out option – if listening with open back headphones you can add a powered subwoofer, for a more immersive, incredible listening experience every time.
Power Supply Makes a Difference
Conductor GT4 is offered in 3 distinct versions, Standard, Deluxe and Max. Each version includes a different power supply and these do impact the performance you hear. The Standard power supply is a 24V 5A. Deluxe includes Burson’s ‘Super Charger’ power supply – inside the charging frequency to the capacitors is doubled, which reduces DC noise, improving the noise to signal ratio and improving audio quality.
The Max version swaps this for the new Fusion power supply. Fusion uses GaN transistors and operates at an extremely high frequency and at high efficiency, providing superior performance and reduced noise compared to the older standard of linear power supplies.

Crossfeed is built in, with 3 levels of intensity to choose from, L/M/H, great with open headphones, live music, movies and music recorded in a venue. Crossfeed can bring the music a bit more in front of you and reduce the headphone effect of having L/R stereo without the focus in front of you. This is an all analog implementation, selectable in the on-screen menu.
There are 3 levels of Gain control. Low uses 10% of output, 1W BAL / 0.5W SE - this setting is low noise and great for IEM’s, with the 100 volume notches. MED uses 50% of power, so 5W BAL / 2.5W SE and will be used for most headphones. HIGH is for the hard to drive models, with the full 10W BAL / 5W SE available! There is also a L/R Balance adjustment, with 20 steps in either direction.

Two Pure Class-A Amp Design
The newly redesigned 10-watt headphone amp layout in the Soloist GT4 is based on two independent, mirror-symmetrical amps, each with its own independent power source.!
This ‘dual-mono’ layout eliminates cross-channel interference, giving you a dead clean background and makes for a wide, deep, spacious soundstage for your headphones to work with.
Cool Case Keeps the Temp Just Right
The Class-A design does run hot and the Cool Case manages the temps of the Soloist GT4 well, so the Class A output stays within its ideal range under load - Its temperature is well managed and will have a long lifespan.
